Grandma J

I am now the proud owner of a Korg MS-10 Analog Synth. The synth is one year younger than I am. PHAT!
Kuro5hin has an semi-interesting thread on Ayn Rand and her objectivist philosophy. Comes with the usual semi-mindless Kuro5hin debates. (Boy. My standards are getting low. Posting semi-interesting and semi-mindless links.) I'm not sure how I feel about objectivism anymore, but when I first read The Fountainhead I thought it was pretty nifty.
Check out Grandma J in the image section.

Funky Lucid Dreams

The design for the Halloween party flyer is being sent off to the printers today. Check the events page for ticket locations.
The weekend was a blast. Digging for Vinyl. Too much wine. Saturday night was a blur. Good times, good friends, and one third of a ripped twenty dollar bill.

Who's Brother?

I am very excited to announce an addition to the talent being showcased at the Funky Halloween party. The local hip-hop quartet Your Brother In My Backpack has joined the already stellar line up! Check out the milch & allegra e.p. which was put out last year by some of the YBIMB members.
Side Note: My girlfriend just got hired as a receptionist for Integris Metals. Yay!

Beard, Monocle and Cane

I think I need a water pik. (Read the glowing review!)
It's Monday the 9th of September... If ya'll are up for some crazy wicked raspy hip-hop you should come down to the West End tonight and check out Buck 65.
Sept 11th.... Enough
Glutton Radio #2 is up! This instalment was mixed by none other than Jake Steak. Check out the sounds page.

Andre!

Obey Giant has a Winnipeg posse! The posters can be seen around the Corydon village area and downtown. Obey Giant has been around since 1989... I'm surprised it took this long to show up here. I wonder if this is the first appearance of the giant here in Winnipeg. Anyone know??

How's that for marketing.
Here are two stories that all you so-called adults out there should read... (kids too!)

Peg City Holla

The first two nights of Peg City Holla have been amazing. Check out the peg city holla site for more info and then come down to the Avenue tonight (August 31st) for some high quality hip hop.
Last night made me really happy. I had a look around while DJ Dopey (Canada DMC champ) was mixing and scratching. Smiles everywhere. You know that scene in The 5th Element where Leeloo is studying human culture and she is fixating on all the bad in the world? Last night was the exact opposite of that.
I almost forgot! There is now an events page for the Funky Lucid Dreams promotion crew. Check it out!!

Beat Generation Mad Trick

Two new tracks have been added to the sounds page. The first one, Relax, was made by myself and my friend Jake. The second track was actually made by the Italian downtempo duo, The Dining Rooms, (the MC on the track is me). This track was used without permission... so please go out and buy the Dining Rooms CD, Numero Deux. The lyrics to this track can be found on the words page under the title: Taking Cover with Wally Glutton.
Any constructive criticism you have concerning the tracks is always welcome.

Problems... Solutions...

There were some initial problems with my CSS skins which should be fixed now. Netscape and Opera still have some issues with my code. Next week I will begin filling up the media sections of the site. Lots of scanned sticker art will be made available as well as a few more mp3s.
Speaking of stickers... I went out stickering downtown with a friend of mine last night. Downtown Winnipeg is really cool when you stop being scared of it. More people need to live downtown. However, trendy expensive lofts are not the answer. Also on the stickering front... I've had some good success waterproofing my stickers with clear spray paint. A battle with the rain.
